Important Dates
Dear Scientists, Health Workers, Researchers, and Educators,
Today, with the increase in the elderly population, we frequently encounter elderly, multimorbid, complex patients in our clinical practice in many branches. This heterogeneous patient group is underrepresented in guidelines, and there needs to be more recommendations for frail patients. Frail elderly patients require individualized treatment goals and personalized treatment approaches. The management of frail patients, which is closely related to the increasing number of admissions to the healthcare system and poor health outcomes, is one of the most prominent current research topics. Therefore, the theme of our symposium for 2024 is "Approach to the Frail Patient". Screening, diagnosis, and treatment of frailty; management of diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, osteoporosis, and dementia in frail patients; multidisciplinary approach to frail patients, the decision of surgical procedures, telemedicine approaches in frail patients; nutrition, pain, end-of-life care will constitute the research topics of our symposium.
The 2nd International and 11th Geriatrics Days will be held between September 20-21, 2024, in Narlıdere Nursing Home Elderly Care and Rehabilitation Center, Izmir. For our symposium, we will be honored to host scientists who have come to the forefront with their scientific knowledge on frailty in our country and worldwide. For the oral presentations deemed appropriate by the scientific committee, face-to-face and online presentations will be available according to the preferences of our symposium participants. After the symposium, oral presentations will be published in the proceedings booklet.
We want to state that we will be happy to see all physicians, especially geriatricians, internists, and family physicians who are interested in the subject theme, as well as nurses, psychologists, gerontologists, dieticians, physiotherapists, social workers, and everyone who provides services for elderly health.
Sincerely regards,
